I can’t believe that I’m already nearing the end of my beautiful, leather “heart” journal! Guess I need to learn to write smaller. ☺️
While I will miss my current journal, I have to say that I’m excited about my next one. The front of my next journal says this…
“God is light, in Him there is no darkness at all.” – 1 John 1:5
The cover is lovely and bright, and covered in beautiful pink and green flowers. I’m excited to see what the Lord wants to teach me and show me in this next “journal season” as I like to call it ☺️There always seems to be a different overall lesson (well –“lessons”) within each journal.
I’ve been thinking a lot about His light again. ☀️
How His light gives us what we need… vision, understanding, healing, growth, love, life… His light is a light that no depth of darkness can overcome!
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” – James 1:17
“…the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.” – Matthew 4:16
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” – Psalm 119:105
“The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.” – Psalm 119:130
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” – John 1:5
“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” – John 8:12
“Then Jesus told them, “You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going. 36 Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light.” When he had finished speaking, Jesus left and hid himself from them.” – John 12:35-37
“5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. 8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 5-9
“Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are unhealthy, your body also is full of darkness. See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness.” – Luke 11:34-35
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16
Lord, thank You for Your beautiful light! Help me to see and understand and recognize Your light. Help me to walk in Your light – in understanding, wisdom, peace — in Your healing, loving, revealing, mysterious, beautiful, life-giving light.
