This is our dining room floor.

It’s not the usual “pretty picture” you are used to seeing on your instagram feed.

It’s not the cute little farmhouse DIY finished project you see on your Pinterest board.

No, it’s not pretty at all. It’s raw, it’s unfinished, it’s rough.

…But it’s not what it once was – from nasty carpet covering these floors, it is one step closer to being restored, finished, hard wood floors. They’re just in a time of transition and waiting.

Isn’t life like that often times? When we’re in a time of transition, sometimes the in between isn’t all that pretty. But it’s a step, it’s a journey, and even though it’s unfinished and tough, it’s better than what was once covered up before.
