“Grace begins where human ability ends.” – Derek Prince
I love this quote from Derek Prince. Isn’t that comforting? Scary, and yet comforting. Scary on the way to the “grace” and comforting because we know God is faithful.
When we get to the place where we just do not have the ability to do something that God has asked us to do – we have to depend on His grace to be able to accomplish it.
“God has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus, before time began.” — 2 Timothy 1:9
There are so many things I cannot do, areas I’m just absolutely weak in, so so many. But I can’t let that stop me from obedience when He asks me to do something that I feel I am too weak in.
Ohhhhhhh why does He ask us to do the things we are so weak in??? Because that allows Him to be strong in and through us — true strength, not our own “weakling fake strength”.
I love that God’s grace is an opportunity to agree with something He is wanting to do. An opportunity to participate with something the Creator of the Universe is wanting to do. We don’t deserve it – small, broken, and so unlikely- and yet the Creator of the Universe gives us this opportunity to take His hand and empowers us to do things we never would have thought possible.
Why is this so hard to remember in that moment of decision?
I am determined to get this so inside of me that I am always reminded of it every time He asks me to do something I am weak in. To always be reminded that He is there to extend His hand of “grace” to carry me through what I need to do.
