What’s the first thing you see when you look at the word “obedience”? For me I see the word “die” and then I think “to self” … and then it just seems like this dreadful kind of really hard word. And obedience can be hard –it is so hard to “die to self” in order to obey sometimes. But what’s on the other side of obedience? The next step. Victory. Moving forward. Not in the least dreadful. Hard sometimes? Yes. But not dreadful because it brings us into victory, into the next step toward Him.

So much truth. The Lord knows obedience can be hard for us, but He loves us and He knows that we need instruction and guidance in order to keep taking steps forward in the journey of life. These steps of obedience bring us closer to Him and closer to Home.
