10.16.18 – Why focus on what I’m not?

I noticed a few days ago that I often focus more on the things “I’m not” rather than on the things that “I am”….

“Oh, that’s not me…”

“Oh I don’t like this or that…”

“I don’t do this…”

“I wouldn’t do a thing like that…”

“I’m not….”

Then it hit me that I know more about the things that I’m not rather than knowing about who I am. What good does this do?

So today I will think on the things the Word says I am –to think on these things and to agree with these things. Maybe someone out there needs to be reminded of these truths as well…

I am a Child of God (John 1:12)

I am chosen of God, holy and dearly loved. (Col 3:12, 1 Thessalonians 1:4)

I am wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14)

I am a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:21)

I am God’s workmanship and beautiful in His sight (Ephesians 2:10)

I am capable (Philippians 4:13)

I am healed (Isaiah 53:5)

I am a temple, a dwelling place of God (1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19)

I am called (1 Corinthians 7:17)

I belong (1 Corinthians 12:27, Ephesians 5:30)

I am victorious (1 Corinthians 15:57)

I am more than a conqueror through Christ (Romans 8:37)

I can come boldly before the throne of God (Hebrews 4:16)

I am His daughter (John 1:12, Romans 8:14, 15, Galatians 3:26, 4:6)

I am free (Romans 8:1, 6:22, Galatians 5:1)

I have the mind of Christ – a sound mind (1 Corinthians 2:16, 2 Timothy 1:7)

I am righteous (2 Corinthians 5:21)

I am led by God (2 Corinthians 2:14)

I am redeemed and forgiven (Colossians 1:14)

I am rescued (Colossians 1:13, Psalm 91)

I am sheltered under His wings, hidden in the secret place of the Almighty (Psalm 91:1)

I have been given peace (John 14:27)

In my weakness I am given strength (2 Corinthians 12:10)

I am loved. (1 John 4:10)

    1. Lately it’s like, “ok, Lord – what are You going to teach me today?” 🙂 Thankful that He is opening my eyes to these things.
