11.20.18 – Finding Strength in Weariness

“…for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength.”

-Philippians 4:11-13

I refuse to use this journal to complain or whine, but I will be honest and say that I am writing from a place of weariness this morning.

Today I am hanging onto the Truth of the Word for my life.

I’m going to fill this journal up with Truth today.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 4:6-7

I know that in my helplessness, in the things of life that I cannot do anything about, He will be my strength and help, and He will strengthen me through these struggles.

“For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.” -2 Chronicles 16:9

“The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights.” -Habakkuk 3:19

I know I’ve got to take my eyes off of all of my problems and onto the One who will Deliver me, the One who is my Constant, my Help in need.

“When you sit enthroned under the shadow of Shaddai, you are hidden in the strength of God Most High. He’s the hope that holds me and the Stronghold to shelter me, the only God for me, and my great confidence.” – Psalm 91:1-2 TPT

I have learned that there is power in choosing to be thankful. It does something…

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things…and the God of peace will be with you.” -Philippians 4:8-9

I will rejoice and “take heart!” because I know that He has overcome. He knew we would need this reminder…

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” -John 16:33

I will remember when I called and He answered!

“In the day that I called, you answered me. You encouraged me with strength in my soul.” -Psalm 138:3

I know that He is near…

“The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.” -Psalm 145:18

When I face the “impossible” I will trust in Him, I will wait for Him, and I will keep my eyes on Him because when He makes the impossible happen, I want to be looking so I will see Him.

“I lift up my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip, he who watches over you will not slumber.” -Psalm 121:1-3

Thank you for these reminders today, Lord!
