11.27.18 – Hope for Today

“But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.” – 2 Thessalonians 3:3

When I sat down to write this morning, yesterday keeps coming to mind.

I’m honestly okay with “yesterday” being officially archived in the history books. It can go on and be “yesterday” because I am over it. Well, maybe not quite, but I am trying to be. I’m headed that way.

I know I need to write about today and now, not yesterday. I need to be thinking about today and not focus on things behind me.

So I am thankful for a new day. I’m thankful that I don’t have to compare today with the things that happened yesterday – it’s a new day filled with opportunities for the impossible to be made possible.

Maybe one day I’ll be able to share about the things that happened in recent yesterdays when I can see the Lord transform the pain into being just a part of the story, a part of His story and how He came through.

Until then, I’m saying hello to “today” and going on my way 🙂

I’m thankful for hope. The Lord has given me a burst of it this morning.

I’m thankful for life –that because of Him I can declare life and not death.

I’m excited to see what the Lord’s going to do. I know He’s doing something.

I can’t wait to say, “Look at what my God did!”

I have so many stories of “Look at what my God did!” and I know a new one is coming.

My God is the God of hope.

“For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.” – Romans 8:24-25
