12.20.18 – He Who Promised is Faithful

I am realizing that sometimes when facing trials that feel familiar to us, it’s easy to think that we’ve not really come all that far in life, or that we’re behind, or that we’ve failed to succeed. That we’ve come back round’ the mountain.

I know that’s not true. It’s like I’m in a place where I can see the truth, I can see reality, and I can also see the attempt of the enemy to block the truth. I can feel the pull of both right now, but I do know the truth and I am standing on that.

So I am going to embrace and proclaim more of the truth. I know this will help to remind me of the reality when I am tempted to believe a lie, because of how I feel or how something might seem to be or appear. I will not give into fear.

We have been facing some of the hardest trials of this whole season of life in these last few weeks, maybe couple of months. Parts of these trials feel awfully familiar to us that we thought were behind us, and yet here we are. I know it’s just something to endure until breaking through, because I know that our God will come through when we continue standing on His promises and as we keep taking those steps to follow Him.

“Oh, give thanks to the Lord!
Call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the peoples!
Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him;
Talk of all His wondrous works!
Glory in His holy name;
Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!
Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face evermore!
Remember His marvelous works which He has done” – Psalm 105

Lord, may Your Word be such a part of me that the enemy will not be able to confuse me with his attempt or illusion. And help me to use my own mind as You have created it to work – for me and not against me. I will stand firm. I trust You, Lord. You are faithful.

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” – Hebrews 10:23

Here’s a song that reminds me of the truth, and reminds me of His faithfulness.

“How Far We’ve Come” by I AM THEY

It’s hard to believe, this is the same road we started on

Ashes to beauty once again

When we couldn’t see

And it all disappeared from under us

He became the ground beneath our feet

Every step, every struggle, every triumph, every trial

Look at the mountains we’ve climbed

Look at how faithful He’s been

To deliver us, look at how far we’ve come

The story of unfailing love, Jesus has made a way

To deliver us, look at how far we’ve come

He takes our wreckage

Puts all the pieces back together

Breathing new life into the dust

You never let go, You never let go

God, through it all You will never let go

You never let go, You never let go

God, through it all You will never let go

You never let go, You never let go

Look at the mountains we’ve climbed

O God how faithful You’ve been

To deliver us, deliver us!

Look at the mountains we’ve climbed

O God how faithful You’ve been

to deliver us, look at how far we’ve come

The story of unfailing love, Jesus You made the way

To deliver us, look at how far we’ve come!

look at how far we’ve come!
