I awoke this morning with the Lord’s Prayer in my spirit…
As I got up, put on the coffee, got my things together to sit down at the table, I kept hearing the verses of this incredible model prayer that Jesus gave us.
There is an endless amount of depth in this passage and prayer.
I’ve felt the need to not only pray it this morning, but to also dive deep into it, to read it slow, verse by verse, and let it sink in. Thank you, Lord. You are such a wonderful teacher.
Matthew 6:9-13:
“Pray, then, in this way:
‘Our Father who is in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”
Everything is in here, everything is covered in this short, sweet, and simple prayer.
Simple and powerful beyond what we can understand.
“By day the LORD commands His steadfast love, and at night His song is with me, a prayer to the God of my life.” -Psalm 42:8
Actually, when I heard these words this morning, I heard them in the form of this song…
