2.26.19 – God’s Fixer Upper Business

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” – Ephesians 6:10-12

Sometimes things surface from within ourselves that we never realized were there.

Ugly, ugly things.

Oh the enemy knows they’re there, he’s seen the patterns, he’s been watching the story of our lives, and he’s waiting for the most “opportune” time to create a situation to trigger those things.

The enemy likes to cause destruction, disunity. He knows our deepest weakest points. When we get close to something really good about to happen in the Kingdom, that’s when he strategically tries his most cunning trick of all.

This battle is hard, and something about this city we are visiting…. the battle seems even harder here. I don’t think I was prepared enough for that.

I was reminded today again, that as long as we have an earthy, physical body, we are not immune. We are in the battle.

But God…

The good news is that the Lord has this way of redemption. He’s in the repair and restoration business. He’s a “fixer upper”

Thank goodness for His grace and mercy.

So today I choose to be in agreement with the Lord.

Today, I choose to cast down anything that is in agreement with the enemy that is still within me. Anything holding me back, any wound, any trigger point.

I will rest in this… sometimes the Lord can do the most beautiful work with the broken pieces as He puts them back together. Kind of like stained glass.

Do Your work in me, Lord.

You always surprise me with Your grace and Your mercy –gifted in the moment we feel we least deserve it.
