3.25.19 – Spring is Here

There is a passage of scripture that I turn to quite often, and usually it’s just where I inadvertently open to as I set my bible on the table to open it up. There’s no bookmark there. I don’t know if it’s meant that I read this highlighted section often, or if it’s because my bible is getting used to this place being opened to so many times in the pages… perhaps both, yes — it’s probably both. But this morning, I read this passage in a new way. As I opened to this passage again this morning, I wondered how the Passion Translation would read, so I looked it up…

“Arise, my dearest. Hurry, my darling.
Come away with me!
I have come as you have asked
to draw you to my heart and lead you out.
For now is the time, my beautiful one.
11 The season has changed,
the bondage of your barren winter has ended,
and the season of hiding is over and gone.
The rains have soaked the earth
12 and left it bright with blossoming flowers.
The season for singing and pruning the vines has arrived.
I hear the cooing of doves in our land,
filling the air with songs to awaken you
and guide you forth.
13 Can you not discern this new day of destiny
breaking forth around you?
The early signs of my purposes and plans
are bursting forth.
The budding vines of new life
are now blooming everywhere.
The fragrance of their flowers whispers,
“There is change in the air.”
Arise, my love, my beautiful companion,
and run with me to the higher place.
For now is the time to arise and come away with me.
14 For you are my dove, hidden in the split-open rock.
It was I who took you and hid you up high
in the secret stairway of the sky.
Let me see your radiant face and hear your sweet voice.
How beautiful your eyes of worship
and lovely your voice in prayer.” – Song of Solomon 2:10-14 (TPT)

Spring is here.

There is a dreamy sense of excitement and relief within me. A sense of celebration, even in the midst of still being in the middle of some major challenges right now. I know that Spring is here. Before long, we will see everything coming to life — all the colors, all the flourishing flowers, all the smells of Spring, and we will see the fruit.

Side Note: As I stop and just about read back over what I’ve just typed up, I have a feeling it’s a bit more cheesy-ish than I usually allow for myself, but you know what, that’s just going to have to be okay. ?☺️ Did you know that I usually try to avoid anything from Song of Solomon? haha! Because it makes me quite uncomfortable to read.

But I love the Lord’s way. Isn’t His way, the way He does things, the way He pulls everything together, the way He has such good surprises up His sleeves, so many things in store that He’s created for His children…. isn’t it just beautiful? It’s so sweet. More than we can comprehend. The little things that He is always doing –whether we notice them or not. The way He sings over us, the way He speaks over us –over our lives. The way He uses other people around us to speak into us. It’s everywhere, all the time, constant.

He’s there. Always wooing, always calling, always leading, always encouraging, always speaking His truth over us…about who we are, who He has always dreamed us to be.

Thank you, Lord. ?

P.S. I think I’ve finally gotten my subscriber emails set to go out again, for those of you who are subscribed to receive them. Hopefully all of that is resolved now. Should go out around 8 AM each day.
