5.12.19 – “Wash, Rinse, and Repeat”

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” – Psalm 51:10

It can be easy for our weaknesses and vulnerabilities to turn into not-so-good attitudes and destructive behaviors.

It’s nothing to feel ashamed about. It happens to us all. We all need constant renewal.

“Behold, You delight in truth in the inward being, and You teach me wisdom in the secret heart.” – Psalm 51:6

Isn’t that beautiful?

I’m so thankful for the Holy Spirit, and how He searches our hearts and our ways and reveals to us the things we need to realize about ourselves so that we can quickly put a stop to destructive things and come back into alignment with Him.

When He reveals that “thing” to us, even though it may be hard to admit to ourselves, the best thing we can do is thank Him for showing us, be relieved, repent of that thing, ask forgiveness, and ask Him to cleanse us to create a refreshed and renewed heart and spirit that is pleasing to Him.

We don’t have to guess about that one, He’s glad to do it. ? It’s already there for us.

It’s never something to run from. When He searches and finds that “thing” within us that is causing destruction and He makes us aware of it…. the reality is, it’s a relief.

“Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.” – Hebrews 10:22

“Wash, Rinse and Repeat.”

I just keep thinking of that phrase. I think it’s one of those that we see on a bottle of shampoo.

“Wash, Rinse…

and Repeat”

Renewal is a constant process with the Lord. He knows this, He’s aware of this.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” – Romans 12:2

Guess what? He loves us. Nothing is surprising to Him. He knows what is best for His children. He doesn’t want us to live blinded. He wants us to live blessed.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” – Matthew 5:8

Thank you, for quickly showing us these things, Father. Create in me a pure heart, Lord. A clean heart, a renewed spirit that pleases You. You always know what’s best. You don’t want us to skip a beat. You do all things because You love us.

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.” – Psalm 19:14
