5.16.19 – He’s Gonna’ Make it Good

Okay, so this may cause some of you to laugh… it made me laugh at myself. I so hesitated from having to share this for some reason, but when I tried to think of anything else to write about today, the Lord just kept leading me back to this.

Yesterday as I was driving a song came on by Shania Twain called, “I’m Gonna Getcha Good!” I believe it was from the early 2000s? Anyway, I remember listening to it when I was younger, and I remember hearing it on the radio all the time back then. I’ve heard it a million times.

Well, when it came on yesterday it was like I heard it in a completely new way.

As I was listening to some of the lyrics it was like I heard the Lord start speaking through what I was hearing… almost like I would hear a lyric and then I would hear it in a way that the Lord was saying to His children. I was kind of like, “Lord, really? Are you really giving me revelation and reminders from this Shania Twain song? Can that even be possible??” and I kind of laughed and as I listened more, I was like…. *Wow, He sure is.*

I think I heard the Lord even chuckle. ?

“I’ve already planned it
Here’s how it’s gonna be
I’m gonna love you, and you’re gonna fall in love with me
Yeah”

(I know, I’m cringing and double checking with the Lord as I type this. LOL)

But as I heard these lyrics I started hearing it as the Lord saying to His people, to the ones He is chasing after, pursuing, calling, drawing…

“It’s all in My plans. This is what shall be. I love you, and you’re going to fall in love with Me”

The lyrics continue to say…

“I’m gonna getcha while I gotcha in sight
I’m gonna getcha if it takes all night
You can betcha by the time I say “go, ” you’ll never say “no”
I’m gonna getcha; it’s a matter of fact
I’m gonna getcha, don’tcha worry ’bout that
You can bet your bottom dollar, in time you’re gonna be mine
Just like I should – I’ll getcha good”

And then I imagined Him pursuing after those who are running, those who may be trying to hide from Him. Those who have been marked and prayed over…

He knows us by name. He knows the plans He has for us. He will always be waiting to welcome His children back home with open arms. He’s waiting, but He’s also pursuing.

“But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.” – Isaiah 43:1

“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb…You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.” – Psalm 139:13, 15-16

Our Father has pursued us and called us even before we were even saved. He knows us by name. He called us “His” before we ever cared anything about Him.

Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity…”
– Jeremiah 29:12-14

He’s got big plans for us.

O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord.” – Psalm 139:1-4

And then….

Then, when we wake up and begin to pursue Him…

…and then He surprises us.

He’s gonna’ make it good.
