5.27.19 – Above and Beyond

This morning as I was writing a dream down in my dream journal, I took special notice of the verse that was in the header of the page — you know, those journal pages that include a variation of verses that are faded into the print of the pages?

Then a bit later after writing my dream down, and after journaling about my day yesterday in my regular journal, I was flipping through my bible asking the Lord what He wants to show me today, and I came to this same verse in my bible. It was underlined and I even had marked a heart beside it –so I thought I should pay attention.

This verse is Psalm 103:5, here are a few different versions…

“He satisfies you with goodness; your youth is renewed like the eagle.” (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

“He fills my life with good things, so that I stay young and strong like an eagle. ” (Good News Translation)

Each day that we live, he provides for our needs and gives us the strength of a young eagle.” (Contemporary English Version)

God alone can truly satisfy us –who He is satisfies every need that we have… but not only does He satisfy us with the things we need, He gives us “good things”, He satisfies us with His goodness. This is beyond what we need. It’s like the icing on the cake, it’s this “kind” way about Him –the sweetness and kindness and favor of God. He provides all that we need and more with His goodness. He has this way of showing His goodness to us even when we are in the middle of a not-so-good situation. It’s like “God, You didn’t have to do that for me, but You did!”

He even renews us with youth and strength. Just when we think we’re at our end and can’t do anymore, He renews us with youth and strength, causing us to be able to do things that completely surprise us.

He takes us “above and beyond” our own capability.

Thank you, Lord. ✨

  1. Praise the Lord, Heather, God is touching me everywhere powerful than I have ever known. You are helping me and your post just validate his power. I just made the statement to my 34 year old son that I feel better than I have in 25 years! He said, “Mama, you sound like your old self.” I’ve been through a destructive marriage and had chronic pain problems. I was also a victim of child molestation. I’m finally putting these things to rest in Jesus. That was so hard for me. It was so HARD to believe I was worthy of love. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ, Heather, you have pulled me that last mile. God bless you and your family.

    1. Wow, isn’t He faithful to bring us through, allowing us to experience His love in a powerful way that changes our lives! Thank you for sharing your testimony, Nikki. That is powerful and exciting. I love to hear about what He’s doing. Bless you, thank you for sharing this with me today.
