I love when the Lord reminds me of just how intimately, and intricately He knows my heart.
That beautiful, personal way that He reminds me that He notices, that He knows, that He hears the cry and the longings of my heart.
That thing that He does that just pierces me with,
“Yes, I notice.
Yes, I know.
Yes, that longing you have in your heart, I know it’s there. It matters to Me.
I hear your cry, I see your tears, I know your hopes and your dreams.
What’s on your heart matters to Me.”
Those little things that He does, that He really doesn’t have to do for us… the things that so encourage us and make us feel cherished by Him.
So much of what it’s all about is right there within the heart.
It’s all about the heart.
Here’s a thing that I was reminded of yesterday,
There is nothing, nothing the enemy can do to stop what God has in His plans to accomplish. There is nothing the enemy can do to stop what God decides He wants to do.
But…
It is up to us to surrender our wills, our hearts and our minds to the Lord.
And we can decide to dwell on what the enemy threatens to do or we can focus and dwell on what the Lord says He will do.
We can place our eyes on what the enemy is trying, or we can place our eyes on what God is doing.
I realized yesterday that yes, it’s important to pray into the things we see that could be the workings of the enemy, but then we’ve got to set those things down at the foot of the cross so that we can keep our eyes and our focus on the Lord and on His plans, and keep our eyes, our focus on what He is doing.
Because He’s doing a new and exciting thing. ?✨
Because the enemy can’t stop what God has set His mind to do…
The enemy can attempt to distract us, he can twist things up, he can try –but we have a choice…
Am I going to prepare my eyes for what I will see God do? Or am I going to let myself be worried or consumed or distracted by what the enemy threatens and attempts to do over there in the corner?
I am reminded to pray into what I am shown and let it go, “rinse your eyes, and watch and wait and see what the Lord has in store for those who love Him. Watch and see what He is doing!”
I’m not going to miss out on seeing what the Lord is doing because my eyes are turned away.
Because for everything the enemy is trying, the Lord is doing a whole lot more. I’m not going to let him steal my joy, I’m not going to let him take my celebration of what God is doing.
What the enemy is trying may be shiny and distracting, perhaps alarming on the surface, but the work of the Lord runs deep. That’s where I have to focus.
We know that the war is already won. We know that Jesus has overcome.
So,
God is doing some deep work in hearts and He’s changing lives — including mine.
And He’s also working all things for good for those who love Him.
We can trust Him. ?
“I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
With Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” – Psalm 16:8“See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.” – Isaiah 43:19
