6.27.19 – “Don’t worry. Just have faith!”

Have you ever had the Lord just completely and wonderfully surprise you?

The kind of surprise where you just marvel, almost like you feel a spark inside of you,

“Lord, You sure do have a way, don’t You?”

Have you ever had a day where you just about thought the Lord “let you down, didn’t come through” only to be utterly surprised at His goodness, His sweet reminder that He is there, that He’s aware, that He is in control…

…that He knows every. single. detail. of the situation you are going through?

Has the Lord ever reminded you, so clearly, so tenderly, that He has your back?

This is what happened to me yesterday.

After a day of, “God, what now? God, why didn’t you swoop in? I had true faith, God. I took that leap and I feel as though I fell right on my face. I feel so stupid. I feel so foolish.”

…and then, “But God you ARE faithful, no matter how things may seem, no matter what the evidence shows…. I don’t need to understand. You are faithful. I believe in You. I will not fear, I will only believe. I trust You!”

And then, in the moment I least expected it, He surprises me in the most wonderful way with the most tender reminder near the end of the day, with the sweetest refilling of hope and truth of where He is taking me, what He is doing, and what He has done in me.

The kind of reminder that says to me,

“No, You heard Me correctly. You did right. Lift your head, daughter, be encouraged, be filled with hope, remember that I keep My promises. I will not lead you astray.”

God will never let His children down. We may not understand His ways, or why He leads us to respond in certain ways. We may not understand why we have to sometimes deal with the feeling that we may have fallen flat on our faces –but in moments like these, it’s important to remember the truth. The truth that no matter what the evidence may show, no matter how I may feel, HE IS FAITHFUL. HE WILL NOT LET ME DOWN! HE HASN’T LET ME DOWN.

He’s got everything under control.

He knows every longing of our hearts.

“You know what I long for, Lord; you hear my every sigh.” – Psalm 38:9

Jesus tells us, “Don’t fear, only believe” (Mark 5:36)

I love how the Contemporary English Version words it,

“Don’t worry. Just have faith!”

Thank You for Your lovingkindness, Lord. I will keep on moving in faith when You tell me to jump, for I know there is a reason for all things You lead me to. I do not need to understand. I never need to fear being disappointed by You. Thank You for Your sweet reminders that You’re always there, that You’re always aware, and that You’ve got my back.
