“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” – 1 Corinthians 15:57
Here is something that the Lord is reminding me of this morning…
No matter the attempt of the enemy, no matter how it ever seems…
In Christ, we can confidently stand firm knowing that we ALWAYS, in all situations, in the fullness of it all…. as we stand in Christ who has overcome, we always stand in victory, we always remain victorious.
In knowing this truth, and in taking it to heart, we can remain in a place of encouragement, in a place of celebration –a place of peace.
When we stand in this place of victory, nothing the enemy tries will be able to shake us. Nothing he tries will be able to take our focus off of the goodness of God and in the good things He has done.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33
We look past the lies and into the truth and confidently say,
“No, we have overcome by the blood of the lamb! Look at what the Lord has done!”
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” – Revelation 12:11
If the enemy can’t win, don’t you think he would try to make us think that he has won? Don’t you think that he would do anything he can to convince us that he has gotten the better of us? Don’t you think this is the place in the story where he would attempt an illusion to steal our joy and celebration of the victory that we truly have in Christ?
But when we look past that illusion and focus on the truth of the victory that we have in Christ, when we think on and celebrate the things He has done and let that OVERPOWER anything the enemy has stolen or attempted…
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” – Romans 8:31
“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” – Romans 8:37
“He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.” – Colossians 2:15
“…and the LORD Almighty will shield them. They will destroy and overcome with slingstones. They will drink and roar as with wine; they will be full like a bowl used for sprinkling the corners of the altar.” – Zechariah 9:15
“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” – John 8:32
We are not meant to dwell in a place of defeat. We are meant to live and breathe and dwell and celebrate always in a place of victory and peace!
Defeat belongs to the enemy, victory has been given to us!
“Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” – 1 John 4:4
Thank You, Lord. Thank You for the reminder that we are not fighting a losing battle, as the enemy would like us to think. You have already won this thing for us. We can rest in knowing the truth. We can be encouraged and remain in a place of peace no matter the circumstance, no matter how it may seem. I’ll look past that scheme and into the eyes of my glorious King!
