It’s amazing how quickly and easily it can be, in this life…

to go from mountain to valley.

to go from up to down.

to go from high to low.

to go from victory to the next “unexpected” battle.

to go from running, to finding myself suddenly “flat on my face”.

(Or at least it seems and feels that way…)

Worry and concern begins to creep in, “But Lord…. what’s going on? Why did that battle seem to knock me down, just like that? How was I caught so off guard? I don’t feel victorious, I feel defeated!”

Oh how the enemy would love to shake us into the place of worrying and fretting over —anything. It could be anything.

So, this morning, I say this… “it backfired.”

This is what I will remember and declare today…

“The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.” – Deuteronomy 28:7

“Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all.” – 1 Chronicles 29:11

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” – Romans 8:37

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” -Joshua 1:9

This is what the Lord is reminding me of, and instructing me to do today…

“Do not fear, there’s a lesson in this. Do not fret, there is a strengthening in this. Just remember that you are not moving backwards when you are following Me. Continue to declare your trust in Me.”

 “When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.” -Psalm 56:3

“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” – 1 Corinthians 15:57

Thank You, Lord. I take comfort in knowing that I can trust in You to lead me every step of the way –up the mountain, and through the valley. These different kinds of terrains all part of the journey, all part of Your purpose for this life.
