“And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.” -Isaiah 30:21
I love how the Lord directs us.
He’s so faithful to direct us, if we just watch and listen and wait on Him.
He will show us.
He won’t mislead us. He won’t confuse us. We confuse ourselves when we try to impatiently “figure it out for ourselves.” Sometimes we’re just to wait because He knows the right time for us to know…
“Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” -Jeremiah 33:3
God says He will answer us, but He doesn’t say that He will answer us “ASAP” or “right away”… He just says that “He will”, and so that means that we are to “wait” for it, and we can trust and know that the “waiting” is for a good reason.
You know…. He does want us to walk and not fall, to make right choices for our lives.
If we could only just stay in-tune with Him…because He’s always speaking, always directing our steps, always showing us the way.
Sometimes we don’t know where we’re going, but that doesn’t mean He’s not still leading us. It just means we’re not to run ahead, we’re not to rush past the Lord out of impatience, out of fear or worry… getting ourselves into a mess of confusion and chaos.
When I give into fear and worry (lack of faith) this can hinder me from hearing and seeing what the Lord is trying to show me. This lack of faith in Him can tempt me to think I can take it on myself, and boy what a mess that can be. This can complicate the situation, adding stress and struggle. Things the Lord never intended…
“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the Word of Christ.” -Romans 10:17
We are to simply wait, watch, and listen (check the intentions of my heart)… and then go.
Wait, watch, listen (check my heart)… and go.
Jesus said, “I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.” -John 5:30
Thank You, Lord for promising to show us the way. Jesus, thank You for your example to the world, for showing us how to seek the will and the leading of our Heavenly Father. Help us to move with You!
“Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” -Psalm 119:105
