8.30.19 – Sometimes we grow weary…

Jesus knew that we would grow weary.

That is why He gave us this truth to remember…

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” -Matthew 11:28-30

This is why the Lord gives us these truths to cling to, because He knows as humans we will grow weary, we will get tired, we will feel burdened, we will feel emptied…we will be broken. He knows that from the place of “I don’t think I can do this anymore”…. we would find new strength when ours is emptied.

“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me.” -2 Corinthians 12:9

“Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.” -Psalm 105:4

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.” -Isaiah 40:31

It’s not a matter of if we will grow weary…. it’s a matter of when.

But it is up to me, to depend on Him for the strength I need to endure. That’s when His strength comes… in my weakness. It is up to me to be ready to remember the truth I need to be able to endure and to keep going.

“…for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” -Philippians 4:11-13

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” -John 16:33

“For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.” -2 Chronicles 16:9

“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” -Galatians 6:9

Oh Lord, just when I think I can’t go any further, help me to just keep going a little further… and a little further… and a little further. ☀️

  1. Well my LovingHeavenly Father led me to you. It’s like a cool drink of water to my soul. I will keep up. Your the sweet lady with his water pitcher. May it be always full and overflowing with the pure clean water of his word and presence.
