This morning I am filled with a wonderful sense of “overwhelm”… this sense of “overwhelmingness” from seeing the good things the Lord is doing, from this sense within me, what He is doing. He is longing to draw us close.
God is faithful to help us knock anything that is attempting to stand between us, out of the way. He will do what it takes to break down the barriers– the misconceptions, the lies, the false beliefs, the pride, the fears…
He won’t let these things remain in between Him and His children, when we turn our hearts back to Him. He’s faithful to do what must be done to break all of the barriers down, and out of the way. But.. our willingness plays a part in this.
So Father, I feel an urgency to pray that You will fill Your children with an overwhelming hunger to know You. A deep desire to search for You, to find You, to discover You. A deep longing to know You and to dwell with You, Father. I pray that You will place this overwhelming hunger within Your children, a hunger that will compel us forward, right into Your loving arms. The kind of hunger that will cause us to do what must be done in order to be able to dwell with You in this way. A hunger that will draw us to Your heart, that will help us to push past the fear of man, the insecurities, the doubts… a hunger that will bring us into the fullness of Your love.
Ephesians 3:14-19 New Life Version (NLV)
Paul’s Prayer for the Church
14 For this reason, I bow my knees and pray to the Father. 15 It is from Him that every family in heaven and on earth has its name. 16 I pray that because of the riches of His shining-greatness, He will make you strong with power in your hearts through the Holy Spirit. 17 I pray that Christ may live in your hearts by faith. I pray that you will be filled with love. 18 I pray that you will be able to understand how wide and how long and how high and how deep His love is. 19 I pray that you will know the love of Christ. His love goes beyond anything we can understand. I pray that you will be filled with God Himself.
Thank You, Father. ?
