9.30.19 – When His Light moves in…

I officially began my new journal this morning. The cover says,

“God is light, in Him there is no darkness at all.” – 1 John 1:5

I’ve been thinking about this “new journal season” for the last few days…

I always expect it to be a new and different season with each new journal, it has aways seemed to be that way since I’ve started writing every day.

This morning the Lord reminded me of this…

That He is light. His Light moves into darkness, and the darkness out. Darkness cannot exist in the presence of light.

God is called the “Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” (James 1:17) and Jesus is called, “The Light of the world.” (John 8:12)

The holy and perfect Word of God is a “lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” (Psalm 119:105)

And His light is also in me, and surrounding me. It’s not my own, but His.

(Wow, that’s quite overwhelming and comforting, and wonderful if I really think about the reality of this…)

He has called “us out of darkness into His wonderful light.” (1 Peter 2:9)

“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” – John 8:12

“…God is light; in him there is no darkness at all…” – 1 John 1:5-9

“The people who walk in darkness will see a great light; Those who live in a dark land, the light will shine on them.” – Isaiah 9:2

“The people who sat (dwelt enveloped) in darkness have seen a great Light, and for those who sat in the land and shadow of death Light has dawned.” – Matthew 4:6

“Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” – Ephesians 5:14

“For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.” – 2 Corinthians 4:6

Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light.” – John 12:36-37

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light–” – Ephesians 5:8

“For nothing is hidden that will not become evident, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light.” – Luke 8:17

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” – John 1:5

“Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are unhealthy, your body also is full of darkness. See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness.” – Luke 11:34-35

“What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops.” – Matthew 10:27

“The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.” – Revelation 21:23

When His light moves in… those in darkness can see.

When His light moves in… there is hope.

When His light moves in… the darkness cannot remain.

When His light moves in… our hidden places are revealed, and we can begin to be healed.

When His light moves in and shines upon us… we can see our path.

When His light moves in… there is growth.

When His light moves in, we can become “children of Light” and shine His light into a dark world as we walk as “children of Light.”

I don’t know why the Lord is highlighting “light” to me, but I’m excited to see what He teaches me in this new season…
