There’s something incredible and mysterious about a “change of heart.”
There’s something surprising, and relieving, and renewing about a “change of heart”…
To be in the place of realization, that a “change of heart” has taken place is almost beyond words…beyond explanation… Whether I’m seeing the change within my own heart, or within the heart of another.
A “change of heart” is a supernatural phenomenon. It’s a God thing. It’s a miracle.
Because, how did I go from this way of thinking, from this perspective…. to now having this complete 180, this complete shift, this new and revived, “change of heart?”
How did this happen? When did this happen? Something changed…
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.” – Ezekiel 36:26 (NKJV)
“‘”I’m going to give you a new heart, and I’m going to give you a new spirit within all of your deepest parts. I’ll remove that rock-hard heart of yours and replace it with one that’s sensitive to me.” – Ezekiel 36:26 (International Standard Version)
“I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the LORD. They will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with all their heart.” – Jeremiah 24:7 (NIV)
“The LORD your God will change your heart and the hearts of all your descendants, so that you will love him with all your heart and soul and so you may live! – Deuteronomy 30:6 (New Living Translation)
I recently had a change of heart about something in my life, and it was such a drastic change, that it caught me off guard. My own “change of heart” surprised me. ha!
It was such a drastic, and instant “change of heart,” and I found myself going from dread and sadness…to excited, hopeful, and amazed because I knew that such an instant and drastic change in my heart had to be God.
This moment of realization has been a reminder to me, that God is truly the only One who is capable of doing this kind of transformative work in our hearts.
He’s amazing at it, there is no explanation of it, no way to explain the “steps” to make the change…. no way to explain this kind of transformation.
It’s just His way. ?It’s the mysterious and wonderful work of His hands, a work that comes from His very own heart.
Thank You, Lord, for allowing me to see and realize when You are doing this great thing, this incredible work in my heart. Thank You for letting me take joy in recognizing Your work, as it is happening within my heart.
And thank You for this reminder to just leave this kind of work to You, and only You. For You are truly the only One who can do this kind of transformation work. Thank You, Jesus.
