This morning I was led to a verse that connected with something that I have been thinking on and processing since last night. It’s something very simple and it goes so deep.
“You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah” – Psalm 32:7 NKJV
It’s our “hiding place” our “safe place” that we have in the presence of God.
The place where we feel safe in the presence of our loving Heavenly Father.
It is one thing to read about it, and another to see it…and it’s another to understand it from experiencing it.
We had a baptism service last night at our church and I watched as person after person got into the water and just completely broke open before the Lord. It was like this “place” where the people could come to be in God’s loving presence, and they could open themselves up to receive a deep, deep work, wherever the Lord needed to minister to them.
When we come to this place of His presence, it is there that we run right into His unconditional love.
In this place of His unconditional love, we feel safe to be exposed and vulnerable and we open up to let Him search us.
It is in this place that the Lord does a most beautiful transformative, healing, redemptive work that only He can do.
A work that convicts us, washes us, delivers us, heals us, comforts us…
…and then ignites us. ?
I love this quote I’ve seen going around that says,
Religion says: “I messed up, my Dad’s gonna kill me!”
Sonship: “I messed up, I need to call my Dad.”
Isn’t that beautiful? It’s available to us.
Wow, God. I’m so thankful that I get to abide in this “safe place” with You. It’s always right there for me to step into with You.
