I love this song by Sandra McCracken. It’s a simple song.
It’s simple, and yet the lyrics of this song are profound –a powerful reminder of a simple truth. Turning that simple truth into a declaration and offering to the Lord.
I love simple things. I love how the Lord uses simple and small things. I love how He often speaks to us in a small voice. How He often gives us faint images that cause us to run to Him with wonder and hunger and curiosity, wanting to know more and more of Him, and what is on His beautiful heart.
As I was looking at the word, “simple” I became curious about what the actual definition is…
“easily understood or done; presenting no difficulty. Plain, basic, or uncomplicated in form, nature, or design; without much decoration or ornamentation.”
Sometimes my “overly complicated and cluttered mind” needs to be reminded and brought back to the pure and simple truth.
Maybe that’s why we are reminded to constantly thing on these things…
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” – Philippians 4:8 ESV
I was reading this morning and opened up to a favorite of mine in Psalm 31,
“But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord;
I say, “You are my God.”
My times are in Your hand;
Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me.
Make Your face shine upon Your servant…” – Psalm 31:14-16
Thought I’d share this sweet and simple song on here this morning…
“Christ is the Life of the World” by Sandra McCracken
In Christ we offer all that he has offered
the perfect Offering.
Christ is the life of the world.
Christ is the life of the world.
So we remember all that he remembered
the whole of Love returned.
Christ is the life of the world.
Christ is the life of the world.
Bridge:
Let us lift up, lift our hearts.
Let us lift up, lift our hearts.
It is good to lift our hearts to the Lord.
Sent forth in beauty, reconciling all things
radiant in holiness.
Christ is the life of the world.
Christ is the life of the world.
Christ is the life of the world.
