12.16.19 – Another kind of glimpse into His heart…

As I was sitting here with the Lord this morning, reflecting with Him on some of the things happening in my life, some of the people in my life…

Something began to come into focus… and it was like I was suddenly able to “capture” it…

When we focus on the good within each other, the beautiful parts of who we are, even perhaps the little quirks and interesting ways about us –as we focus on these good things, these beautiful things…

We are getting to see the tiniest little glimpse into God’s character, and His unique and beautiful ways. We are getting to see His fingerprints all over the designs of the people we get to know and experience in our lives.

A unique treasure placed within each of us to be discovered.

Isn’t that amazing?

Just as reading God’s Word is a way into understanding and knowing His heart and His character, so is looking into what He has so beautifully and intentionally created from His heart.

Just like when we see a person’s art, this is a way for us to see into that person’s heart.

Isn’t that wonderful how He’s revealing Himself to us in this way, right before our very eyes?

It’s just right there for us to discover within each other. He’s letting us get to know Him in such a unique way. He’s allowing us to get to know qualities of His character as we observe and experience His creation.

If we combine all of the people in our lives, and we look at all of the good and unique things about their characteristics and who they are, and we begin to pull all of those things together, we can begin to see a little bit of our Heavenly Father’s heart, His ways, His character….His intention.

When I think of everything this way, I am able see more of the beauty of seeing past sinful nature and into a person’s heart, into their character design… so perfectly and intricately and purposefully designed by their Maker –directly from His heart, all carefully thought up in His mind.

He is not all the sin that we sometimes see on a person… that’s not His character. His reflection is within the blueprint of His creation –His design of that person.

He says that what He created is “good” — and I believe it is more “good” than we realize sometimes.

It’s from this place that we can see and understand and experience more of who He is, by simply seeing what He put His heart into creating, and designing and building within the people in our lives.

Have you ever seen a kid create something they just absolutely put their whole heart into? They’re just so proud of what they created, they’re beaming and they can’t wait to show you. Doesn’t it show you so much about their heart, when you look at what they’ve created? Something rose up in their heart to create something, and just look at what they’ve created.

There’s no one just like you, and there’s no one just like me.

God’s “puzzle” is almost like a mirror that’s in all of these little pieces, and as we put all of the pieces together, we can begin to see a reflection of His heart.

Isn’t that beautiful?

Gosh, it makes me want to see through all dirt on the outside of all of us, into the good in all of the people within my life, all the more. When we only see the sin in a person’s life or the negative things, how we are missing out!

Father, thank You for making us “good” — thank You for revealing a glimpse into who You are, in this way, Father. What a treasure. It’s just right there for us to find if we simply look for it, if we look for Your heart, Father.

I’ve got to share this song –and I know I’ve shared it on here before, but I thought of it just now as I was wrapping up this post.

“Add to the Beauty” by Sara Groves

We come with beautiful secrets
We come with purposes written on our hearts, written on our souls
We come to every new morning
With possibilities only we can hold, that only we can hold

Redemption comes in strange place, small spaces
Calling out the best of who we are

And I want to add to the beauty
To tell a better story
I want to shine with the light
That’s burning up inside

It comes in small inspirations
It brings redemption to life and work
To our lives and our work

It comes in loving community
It comes in helping a soul find it’s worth

Redemption comes in strange places, small spaces
Calling out the best of who we are

And I want to add to the beauty
To tell a better story
I want to shine with the light
That’s burning up inside

This is grace, an invitation to be beautiful
This is grace, an invitation

Redemption comes in strange places, small spaces
Calling out our best

And I want to add to the beauty
To tell a better story
I want to shine with the light
That’s burning up inside
