Cleansing, renewal, revival, death to the old self and life to the new….. consecration, submission, obedience…
It’s a different way to look at baptism, isn’t it?
The Lord can do many different things through this act of obedience. He can do whatever kind of work He wants to do within us because we are surrendering to Him, we are being vulnerable before Him, we are trusting Him. He loves us each so uniquely, and He knows what our hearts need.
I felt the Lord drawing me to be baptized at our church, and my husband Jason felt it was the right time too. So we decided to be baptized again (the first time together was in Georgia at the North Georgia Revival) –The Lord set fire to this thing at our home church, and so we wanted to be obedient to go and be baptized, without any real “reason” other than it was what the Lord was drawing us to go….. and so we went again out of obedience. ?

It’s not easy to be vulnerable and transparent in the spotlight. Not knowing what God may choose to do in such a public way… but He is trustworthy. He is tender and kind, but at the same time, there is also a fierceness about Him — He won’t allow hinderances to stand in the way of His beloved children, He’s going to walk us right through them in His perfect plan.
One of the things I battle with in my life is “fear of man” — and the Lord is walking me through that. You know how He often does that? He walks me through situations where in order to be obedient, I must face that “fear of man”…and then standing face to face with it, I then set my focus on Jesus, and then He leads me into victory.
Our Heavenly Father knows what needs repairing in our hearts. He so lovingly takes care of our hearts, and regardless of what the process looks like on the outside, we can trust that He will meet our steps of obedience, and we can trust that any act of obedience, regardless of the outward “results” does something huge in the unseen realm — above all, obedience pleases Him, and it opens the door to the next thing. ??
No matter what your situation is, don’t let fear hold you back from taking that step of obedience. He is a safe place, no matter what “fear” may tell you.
The Father is drawing His children to Himself. It’s an invitation. Jesus is doing a deep, transformative work in us. He’s preparing us.
He is inviting you to come to Him. ? Just trust Him.
“Clean” by Natalie Grant
I see shattered
You see whole
I see broken
But You see beautiful
And You’re helping me to believe
You’re restoring me piece by pieceThere’s nothing too dirty
That You can’t make worthy
You wash me in mercy
I am clean
There’s nothing too dirty
That You can’t make worthy
You wash me in mercy
I am cleanWhat was dead now lives again
My heart’s beating, beating inside my chest
Oh I’m coming alive with joy and destiny
‘Cause You’re restoring me piece by pieceThere’s nothing too dirty
That You can’t make worthy
You wash me in mercy
I am clean
There’s nothing too dirty
That You can’t make worthy
You wash me in mercy
I am cleanWashed in the blood of Your sacrifice
Your blood flowed red and made me white
My dirty rags are purified
I am cleanWashed in the blood of Your sacrifice
Your blood flowed red and made me white
My dirty rags are purified
I’m clean, I’m cleanWashed in the blood of Your sacrifice
Your blood flowed red and made me white
My dirty rags are purified
I’m clean
I am clean
I’m clean
Oh You made me
You wash me
Clean
Oh You made me clean
