1.26.2020 – Understanding

I love the way God “adds” understanding to the things that are already happening in our lives….

It’s this way that He gives understanding as life happens…“God, what’s this?….. OH! I see it now!”

The way He allows us to begin to see into the things in our lives that have already been happening, He just shows us what’s been going on all along…

If we just stop and ask Him…

If we just stop and ask Him about a thing, He’ll show us what we need to know. He’ll give us the understanding that we need, it’s maybe not always instantly, sometimes He has a purpose for the “digging in” part, but we can trust that He will give us the understanding when the time is right for understanding.

If any of you lacks wisdom let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given to him.” – James 1:5

“But it is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives them understanding.” – Job 32:8

“The unfolding of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.” – Psalm 119:130

“For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you.” – Proverbs 2:10-11

I am realizing that so many things/situations in life are really “invitations” from God… an invitation to hear Him, to turn to Him, to seek Him some more, and to receive deeper understanding and revelation from Him.

This morning I saw something, a person I didn’t know, as I was in prayer –and in all honesty, in the past when this would happen, I thought it was nothing but my imagination, no big deal. I didn’t give things like this much attention.

This morning when I took note of this thing that I saw, which was a lot clearer than in the past, knowing that I was in prayer, and I asked the Lord what it was, “What do I do with this, Lord?”….. instantly He answered me and showed me what I was to do with what I saw.

No, He didn’t give me the full understanding, but seeing what I saw led me into a specific prayer.

It was an invitation from the Lord, to see what He was wanting me to see, leading me to ask Him what He wanted me to ask so that I would know how I should pray.

So I’m pressing in, Lord, I am taking note. Thank You for inviting me into the things You are wanting to do here in the earth. Thank You for teaching me Your ways, and for giving me the understanding that I need. You don’t always give me full understanding, there is always a mystery, there is always more to the story, but I love how it draws me even closer to You, and I trust that when You invite me, there is a purpose and a reason for everything that You do.
