“Let the sunrise of your love end our dark night.
Break through our clouded dawn again!
Only you can satisfy our hearts,
filling us with songs of joy to the end of our days.
15 We’ve been overwhelmed with grief;
come now and overwhelm us with gladness.
Replace our years of trouble with decades of delight.
16 Let us see your miracles again, and let the rising generation
see the glorious wonders you’re famous for.” – Psalm 90:14-16 TPT
What a beautiful passage of scripture. ✨
Have you ever read a scripture in the Psalms and it’s like your heart can so connect with the heart cry of the writer who penned the words?
I love when the Lord does that. ?
This morning as I sat down with the Lord, I heard a simple phrase out of the blue…
“It’s a new day.”
And I have to be honest, when I heard that, I kind of thought,
“Lord, yes, I know… but is there a fresh and new way You’d like me to look at this phrase? Is there a new way You’d like me to ‘hear’ this phrase this morning? Because if I’m just listening with my earthly ears, it sounds extremely “common” and like something I’ve heard many, many times before. But God, perhaps there is a new way You’d like me to see and hear this phrase today…”
“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” – Isaiah 43:19
I continued listening for Him…
“I am the God of surprises. I have many things still up My sleeve.”
ha! ?
Suddenly my morning, which somehow seemed to be, at least in my mind, a bit “mundane” at the start, got a little more exciting as I began wondering what the Lord might have “up His sleeve” ?
“Mundane” began to transform into “wonder” as I sat with Him and remembered that “He is good.” He is wonderful and exciting and often surprising when we begin to see and remember and experience just how good He is.
But His goodness is often so different than how I might define “goodness” in my head, a lot of the time….
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” – Isaiah 55:8-9
The enemy would like us to think and believe that our days are “mundane” or maybe even “not good” but God wants us to remember that He is full of surprise and wonder, and He pours His goodness out upon us –our lives are filled with His goodness. But are we able to see it that way? We can trust that He is always good, no matter how things may seem? He always does things out of His abundant love for us, whether we have understanding in the moment, or not.
“How abundant are the good things that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in you.” – Psalm 31:19
“Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.” – Psalm 91:14
“Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.” – Psalm 34:8
All I have to do is look around. ?
Thank You, Lord. I so needed that reminder on this seemingly “mundane Monday” –I know that “mundane” is anything but true when it comes to me and You. ?

Hello Nikki ☀️ The Lord surprises me with the things He gives me to write sometimes, I sure hope it’s more His words than my own! ? Half the time I can’t even remember later in the day, what I wrote in the morning! ha! Little did I ever know, what He would be getting me into when I first started journaling on here. Still have no idea…I simply just love meeting Him each morning, and writing what He speaks to me each day. I’m so glad you have been blessed by reading these writings, Nikki. Bless you, friend! – Heather
