Have you ever found yourself suddenly in the place of weakness?
…like you really have to push through in order to do the things you need to do?
And it seems harder than ever to keep pushing through…when it was so easy before…
The place of “nothing is easy right now”…
Have you ever suddenly found yourself in this place?
This is where I am right now.
To be completely honest and vulnerable, things that used to be super easy, are suddenly a challenge for me. Things that were going smoothly are suddenly coming to a screeching halt in my life, forcing me to slow down, teaching me to work through this with patience and endurance.
Things I used to be able to do with ease, in my own strength, suddenly I am struggling through.
At times I’m forced to let go and rest, and other times I know I have to push through.
The battle is raging… and it’s like this battle is making it really hard to do the things I know I am supposed to do in my life.
And just now, as I typed that, I heard this…
“Yes, the battle is raging, so you must keep your eyes on Me.“
There are two lessons the Lord has me in the middle of right now:
- Learning to rest in Him. Learning not to fret over not being able to do a lot of things right now. There’s a lesson in this.
- Learning to trust Him deeply in the “unknown” –in the midst of complete inability and weakness, in the midst of struggle and affliction, while I am still waiting to see what the actual lesson is.
I know there’s victory on the other side of this, but there’s also an important and valuable lesson on the inside of this…. there’s a lesson to be learned while I’m right smack in the middle. ?
All of this will pass. He has made the way, and He is leading me through this, but I am determined to learn these valuable lessons that He has for me while I’m in the middle of it all.
“Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” – Ephesians 6:13
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” – James 1:2-4
Thank You, Lord. These lessons are valuable. I’m going to just keep following Your every move, standing firm when it’s time to stand firm, resting when there’s nothing I can do about it, and pushing through when it’s time to push through. You have prepared the way.
