3.10.2020 – The Diving Board

Sometimes we come to these places in life that feel a lot like “jumping off a diving board”…

The place of being “right there on the edge of jumping into something“….

It could be something new…

Probably something deep…

Hitting that water could be a little harsh…

Depending on how I make my way in.

Will I dive straight in? Will I do a cannon ball, hitting the water while making a giant splash?

Or will I attempt to run and fly, and end up hitting the water like a giant pancake? ??

It’s something that could be a little scary…

You’re jumping into the water where you know you’ll either “sink or swim.”

Or I guess one could rise to the surface and simply float…

But there’s a lot of unknown at the place of “jumping into the water” isn’t there? Especially when you’ve never been there before.

This morning in my journal I wrote that something in my life felt sort of like “jumping off a diving board into the water.”

The good news is, God is behind me, nudging me to make the jump, cheering me and encouraging me…

But He’s also in the water, waiting there for me, arm open wide. He’s going to be there to help me whether I sink for a moment and struggle a little bit, or whether I swim like a fish.

He’s behind me, and He’s before me.

“You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.” — Psalm 139:5 NLT

“You have encircled me; you have placed your hand on me.” — Psalm 139:5 CSB

Thank You, Father. ?
