This morning I simply heard,
“Be still…”
But this “be still” had a “…” to it.
A knowing that something should come after it, that something should follow it.
A little later came…
“…and remember (see, know, realize, grasp) that I Am God.”
This comes from Psalm 46:10, and I love comparing the wording of the different versions for a deeper understanding,
“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” (ESV)
“Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (NASB)
“Stop your fighting, and know that I am God, exalted among the nations, exalted on the earth.” (CSB)
“Our God says, ‘Calm down, and learn that I am God! All nations on earth will honor me.'” (CEV)
“Be in awe and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted throughout the earth.” (ISV)
He says,
“…I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted throughout the earth.”
So then…
“Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him.” —Psalm 62:5
And as we quiet our souls, as we remember who He is, this becomes our prayer, this becomes the desire of our hearts and minds…
“Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.” — Psalm 57:5
Let it be, Lord. ☀️
