4.2.2020 – Like an old, favorite sweater…

How can we comfort one another in these kinds of times?

We can find comfort by dwelling with Him in His Word, and reminding one another of His promises. And when we overflow in joy and in faith, we can let it overflow out into the atmosphere…

I’ll admit, it’s a struggle in this time…. sometimes swaying between feeling at peace and knowing that we are kept and sheltered by our Father who is Almighty God…and then seeing an updated news article or even being in conversation with someone who is living and speaking fearfully….

At times I’ll feel myself swaying a bit and I’ll have to get back on track with the truth that I know, and remember that yes, things are beyond my control, they’re out of my hands, and I’m having to depend and trust in God to be my Deliverer and my Protector…. and that I may find rest in that — rather than “worry” in that. To remember that a way has been provided for me, and to know that I am walking in that way, and I can peacefully trust and depend on Him to help me take the right steps in this time that will keep me walking into my destiny.

Music is another way I so often find comfort. ?

For me, this song is like an “old favorite sweater”… well worn, and a familiar comfort to my soul. ?

“It’s Going to Be Alright”

by Sara Groves

It’s going to be alright
It’s going to be alright

I can tell by your eyes that you’re not getting any sleep
And you try to rise above it, but feel you’re sinking in too deep
Oh, oh I believe, I believe that

It’s going to be alright
It’s going to be alright

I believe you’ll outlive this pain in you heart
And you’ll gain such a strength from what is tearing you apart

Oh, oh I believe I believe that

It’s going to be alright
It’s going to be alright

When some time has past us, and the story if retold
It will mirror the strength and the courage in your soul

Oh, oh, I believe I believe,

I believe
I believe

I did not come here to offer you cliches
I will not pretend to know of all your pain
Just when you cannot, then I will hold out faith, for you

It’s going to be alright
It’s going to be alright

What is happening with us during this time? Within these challenges we are facing?

We’re building character. He’s doing a work in us.

He’s drawing us close,

He’s revealing to us our hearts,

He’s aligning us,

He’s building within us,

He’s setting things right,

He’s detoxing us,

He’s strengthening us,

He’s growing us,

He’s restoring us to health as He aligns us, both individually and the church as a whole.

Thank You, Lord. Help us to rise up in courage and in faith, more than ever before! Thank You for soothing our souls when we find ourselves swaying toward fear. Jesus, in You, we solidly stand!
