4.25.2020 – He’s inviting us to know Him…

This morning, I opened to this verse, and I looked it up in The Passion Translation…

“Teach me more about you, how you work and how you move, so that I can walk onward in your truth until everything within me brings honor to your name.” —Psalm 86:11 TPT

There is so much depth to what our relationship with God can be, here and now.

We don’t have to “wait for heaven” to get to know God.

There’s so much more than, “Well, He’s God, and He sits up there and watches our every move! One day I’ll get to meet Him!”

There is so much more….

It’s on His heart, it’s His desire, that our hearts desire to know Him more —to know His character, to know and realize and understand His ways, and to develop a true longing to spend more time in His presence —here and now. Not later in heaven…. now.

But if that seems impossible to you right now (and I know, because at one time it seemed very much “impossible” to me), you may be asking…

“Yea, but how do I get there? I feel so far from that. How does that kind of longing to know Him get into my heart so that it’s a true desire of mine? I want to savor the time I get to spend with Him, I want to dig deeper into His heart…but ‘how do I get there‘? Because it’s just not ‘there’ right now.”

Guess what? He’s aware, and it’s okay to be in that place. It’s all part of the process with Him, it’s all part of the journey. ??‍♀️And He’s always “taking us somewhere” brand new in our journey with Him.

God shows us the way within His word, the journey we should take…

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” — Jeremiah 29:11-13

It’s right there in Psalm 86:11 ?Just ask Him with an open, honest heart…

“Teach me Your way, O Lord;

I will walk in Your truth;

Unite my heart to fear Your name…”

And it’s right there in Psalm 139:23-24…

“God, see what is in my heart. Know what is there. Put me to the test. Know what I’m thinking. See if there’s anything in my life you don’t like. Help me live in the way that is always right.”

The way to God’s heart is to open ours —honesty, vulnerability, realness.

Get real with Him. Be honest with where you’re at. It’s all within the “Secret Place” with Him.

“God, I want to know You better, I open mine to You. Here’s where I am…”

He will do the transformative work, He will put the desire to seek, and the hunger to drive us forward…. and as we get to know Him better, we’ll begin to truly see how good and wonderful He truly is…

And He’ll begin to wipe away all the things that cloud our vision of who He really is, and how He really sees us.

He’s truly wonderful, and He really thinks you’re wonderful too.

Guess what? The God of the universe, longs for you to know Him. ?

“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” —Psalm 46:10

You have said, ‘Seek my face.My heart says to you, ‘Your face, Lord, do I seek.‘” —Psalm 27:8

“But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.” —Jeremiah 31:33-34

He’s inviting us to know Him. ??

Thank You, Father. ❤️
