5.2.2020 – “Who am I agreeing with?”

Have you ever noticed thoughts that just somehow find a way to sneak into your head?

Do any of these sound familiar?

“Oh I should just quit…”

“Oh why do I even bother?”

Or maybe this one…

“Why do I even try?”

Perhaps we begin saying these things jokingly or half-heartedly…. but what happens if they become part our daily language, and then one day they match up with what’s really there in our hearts…

I felt a check within my spirit about something I said yesterday, and I wanted to slap my own wrist —and of course God simply wanted to remind me of who I am, and of the truth, and what He’s done and doing within me.

Just because we feel the struggle a little more intensely sometimes, doesn’t mean it’s ever okay to declare “defeat” or to “lay down and give up.”

But have you noticed, this is what the enemy is constantly trying to convince us to agree with?

He’s trying to get us to agree with “defeat” when in fact, we have the victory. ?

But what happens if we agree with the lies, and then we live in defeat?

What happens if we start to believe it as the truth?

We’ll find ourselves not living in the victory that is already ours, the victory that has been promised to us, in Christ.

You see, every child of God overcomes the world, for our faith is the victorious power that triumphs over the world. So who are the world conquerors, defeating its power? Those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.” —1 John 5:4-5 TPT

This is what the Lord has to remind me of from time to time…

“Get up and keep going…”

“Remember who you are, remember what I’ve done, and realize what I’m doing…” ?

Thank You, Father. ?☀️
