5.21.2020 – “God, what would You like to write upon my heart?”

I’ve been hearing this beautiful phrase a lot, especially from our Pastor:

“Written upon our hearts…”

Heard it again at prayer last night, and this morning again…

Suddenly as I heard it again this morning I had a thought,

“What kinds of things could God write upon our hearts?”

Wow…

Yes, He writes His “laws” which, as our Pastor has been teaching us, are His…

“precepts, commands, and promises”

There is so much depth to these things, to what they are, what they could be!

…and what other kinds of things can He ‘write’ upon our hearts? ?✨What kinds of “direction”, what kinds of “creativity”…. can come from His heart and be written into ours? ✍?☀️

What a beautiful thought —and the idea of this has just completely “opened up” to me this morning…

Oh, the possibilities! ?

“But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets.”—1 Corinthians 2:10

This comes from Hebrews 10:16, that says,

“This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day, says the LORD: I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” —Hebrews 10:16

“…I will embed my laws into their hearts and fasten my Word to their thoughts.” (TPT)

Isn’t this a most beautiful thought? And it’s not just a “thought”… it’s a promise of God. It’s on His heart, for us.

I’ve been thinking of areas where I so desperately need something to be “written” on my heart because of an encounter with God… one of those kinds of things that cannot be explained, but it just “is”….

…and I am reminded that we can ask Him to write upon our hearts, and I believe that is the kind of prayer He longs to say, “Yes, of course” to. ?

“God, what would You like to write upon my heart? I invite You to write it…”

Father, You know what You’d like to write upon my heart, and I invite You, and I ask You, to write what ever You have in Your heart, for me…. into my heart. ?✨✍?Do the transformative work in me, the work that only You can do. And Lord, what are the things You have already written upon my heart? Help me to be able to see and know and realize those things. Thank You, Lord.
