6.9.2020 – What is an “Overcomer”?

I am finally beginning to understand…

…that the lessons we learn from within the struggles are worth far more than having no struggle to deal with at all.

I’m realizing that a struggle is an opportunity. ✨

“Strength comes from struggle. When you learn to see your struggles as opportunities to become stronger, better, wiser, then your thinking shifts from ‘I can’t do this’ to ‘I must do this.‘” —Toni Sorenson

The struggle of life is one of our greatest blessings. It makes us patient, sensitive, and Godlike. It teaches us that although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.” —Helen Keller

I could look at a struggle as a burden, a hindrance to living my life, an annoyance….

Or I could look at a struggle as an opportunity for growth —the “breadth, width, and height” kind of growth…

“No struggle” or “avoiding the challenge of struggle” means I remain at “surface level.”

“Struggles” can take us places if we allow God to use them as He desires to.

And if we choose to see them as He sees them. ??

I’m realizing that struggles are all part of God’s beautiful transformation process…. it’s all part of His plan for us to become the “Overcomer” that He has created us to be.

What is an “Overcomer”?

overcomer: a person who overcomes something; one who succeeds in dealing with or gaining control of some problem or difficulty

So Lord, I’m done with being frustrated at myself over the things I struggle with. I’m done with seeing the struggles as nothing more than annoying, and I’m ready to see them as You see them.

I am ready to remember that You have created me to be an “overcomer” just like You. ?☀️

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” —John 16:3

Thank You, Lord for creating me to be an overcomer. ?

-Heather ?
