No matter how much we want a “blind” person to be able to “see” what we want them to see, to see the truth, if that person is “blind”…. they’re not going to be able to “see” it.
It would take an act of God to remove the “blindness” that would allow that person to “see” what is true…and only God can remove their blindness.
I believe this is what we are dealing with in this age.
“But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.” —2 Corinthians 4:3-4
Sin (any sin) results in “blindness.”
“So this I say, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind, being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart; and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness.” —Ephesians 4:17-19
“This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.“—John 3:19-20
“For the hearts of these people are hardened, and their ears cannot hear, and they have closed their eyes so their eyes cannot see, and their ears cannot hear, and their hearts cannot understand, and they cannot turn to me and let me heal them. “But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear.” —Matthew 13:15-16
The Spirit of Truth (John 14:17-20 MSG)
15-17 “If you love me, show it by doing what I’ve told you. I will talk to the Father, and he’ll provide you another Friend so that you will always have someone with you. This Friend is the Spirit of Truth. The godless world can’t take him in because it doesn’t have eyes to see him, doesn’t know what to look for. But you know him already because he has been staying with you, and will even be in you!
18-20 “I will not leave you orphaned. I’m coming back. In just a little while the world will no longer see me, but you’re going to see me because I am alive and you’re about to come alive. At that moment you will know absolutely that I’m in my Father, and you’re in me, and I’m in you.
Oh Father! Thank You for pulling me out of the darkness and taking me into a process of removing my blindness as we walk together in the light of Jesus! You had hope for my life, and You called me back to Yourself by Your Holy Spirit!
I pray for anyone reading this who may not be able to see clearly because of “blindness”… chase after them, Lord… tug on their hearts, let them see who You really are, that they may be drawn out of the shadows and into the safety of Your beautiful, loving light! Just as You’ve done for me. ?☀️Oh how I’m so thankful that You did that for me. ?
I’m sure there are still many areas of my life where I’m not seeing clearly and accurately as I should, but You are sharpening my vision more and more every day, as we take this journey together, step by step, walking into the Light. ☀️Thank You, Father. Thank You for drawing me and for not giving up on me. ?
Your Daughter,
Heather ?
