8.5.2020 – The “Little Things” are “Big Things”

I’m realizing that…often the things we think matter, really don’t matter as much as the things we think are “too little” to matter.

(oops…is that a tongue twister? ?)

There are things that we think, don’t matter…. and they actually really DO matter, a whole lot.

Little things are indeed little, but to be faithful in little things is a great thing.

Mother Teresa

Watch the little things; a small leak will sink a great ship.”

Benjamin Franklin

“He put another parable before them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is larger than all the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.” —Matthew 13:31-32

“Then he took his staff in his hand and chose five smooth stones from the brook and put them in his shepherd’s pouch. His sling was in his hand, and he approached the Philistine.” —1 Samuel 17:40

“For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” —Matthew 18:20

This morning I am reminded of two things…

Pay attention—be mindful of doing the “little things”…

and

Don’t give up on doing these “little things” and taking these “little steps.”

Because they matter more than we can see in the moment. They matter more than we realize. ✨

If you can’t do the little things right, you will never do the big things right.

William H. McRaven

Thank You for this encouraging reminder, Lord. Thank You for shining Your light on these “little things” that can sometimes be overlooked. Thank You for highlighting what’s important to You—a reminder to not give up on doing these “little things” …that matter a great deal to You.
