11.5.2020 – “Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold…”

Strengthen the weak hands,
And make firm the feeble knees.
Say to those who are fearful-hearted,
“Be strong, do not fear!
Behold, your God will come with vengeance,
With the recompense of God;
He will come and save you
.”—Isaiah 35:3-4 NKJV

I was brought to Isaiah 35 this morning…

A reminder that as God’s people, we are never to fear, we are never to only look at the way things appear on the surface.

We have to see beyond the surface.

We must see through the “eyes” of faith.

For we walk by faith, not by sight.” —2 Corinthians 5:7

…and we are empowered, in Christ, to be able to see and understand and realizeto be reminded…that God often works behind the scenes in places we cannot see with our physical eyes.

We can see it so clearly in His Word.

Here’s a thought…

I wonder what the people thought when Jesus died on the cross… ?

And He was in the tomb for 3 days…

It didn’t look good, did it?

But then He was raised to life again! ?

God knew what He was doing in all of it, didn’t He?

How God’s ways are higher than our ways, and many times He does things in a way that we cannot grasp or understand in the moment…

“For they still did not understand from the Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.”—John 20:9

“After He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this. Then they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.”—John 2:22

Sometimes we cannot understand what He’s doing and why He’s doing it in the moment we’re going thorough it.

But no matter what, we can stand firmly in our trust in Him, by being strengthened in His Word, by remembering what He has promised!

And as it says in Isaiah…

My people will see the awesome glory of Yahweh,
the beautiful grandeur of our God.

Strengthen those who are discouraged.
    Energize those who feel defeated.
Say to the anxious and fearful,
    “Be strong and never afraid.
    Look, here comes your God!
He is breaking through to give you victory!
He comes to avenge your enemies.
With divine retribution he comes to save you
!”—Isaiah 35:2-4 TPT

Thank You, Father. You’ve got this, and I trust You! Help us to have the courage to jump in, to join in and do our part —fully in agreement with You—with YOUR will being done in the earth, as it is in heaven!

Help us to stand fervently in prayer, strengthened and energized and revived by the truth of Your Word, as we walk in faith, and not by what we see around us with our physical eyes, not by what we hear the enemy saying, not by what we are hearing with our physical ears—help us to get past that, Lord, teach us to LIVE by our faith and trust in You.

Encourage the hopeless, and the fearful-hearted, Lord… and fill them with hope, as they remember the promises in Your Word, and as they see in Your ways, that You are trustworthy, YOU are faithful, and in YOU we have victory! ☀️

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”—Romans 10:17

“For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.”—1 John 5:4
