11.12.2020 – Solid, Steady and Strengthened in the Word

You are near, O Lord,
And all Your commandments are truth
.”—Psalm 119:151

I’ll be honest…

I had to really “push through” in order to write on here this morning.

And I’m reflecting on this truth…

That we can’t trust how we feel.

We can’t trust how things seem or appear.

We can’t trust all the thoughts in our minds.

But we can know

We are to remember…

That we stand firmly on the solid, steady, Word of God. ?

Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”—Matthew 7:24

And from that place…

Even when we’re uncertain of exactly how things will play out…

Even in the times when our senses feel a bit dulled in the moment…and we don’t know why…

Even if we are in the place of uncertainty or unknown…

We are strengthened in the Word of God.

On His Word, we stand STRONG.

We may be in the midst of a disorienting storm, it may be hard to see or hear in the moment…

But we can always look down at our feet, our foundation, and remember…

That we are on solid ground.

In Him, we stand firm.

In Him, we stand strengthened.

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.”—Matthew 24:35

In this walk, there will be times when we might not “feel” His presence there as much.

There will be times when He seems to be a little “distant”…

But press in!

Look at where you are standing and see that you are standing on solid ground!

Will I choose to trust God, to declare my trust in His WORD even when I can’t feel Him or sense Him working and moving in the moment?

Will I choose to trust God, to trust what I KNOW of Him, what His Word says….

Even when I see no glimpses of “evidence” of the work of His hands?

These are all lessons that He takes us through in this life.

Will I allow His lessons to teach me?

Will I allow the lessons to grow me, in Him?

Will I choose to remember that I am standing on a solid Rock?

Will I put my trust in His Word?

In what He has said…

In what He has declared…

In what He has promised?

It’s a choice.

And sometimes we must CHOOSE to keep pushing through the chaos, through any disorientation, through the illusions, through the darkness, through the attacks, the lies of the enemy….

And we say, “No. No matter how things feel, no matter how things seem, no matter how they appear on the surface. I am choosing to stand on the Word of God, and I declare that His Word is TRUE!”

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure...”—Hebrews 6:19

And we will see and know and remember

That we stand solidly, on His Word.

But also remember…

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.“—James 1:22

“He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.””—Luke 11:28

Oh God, help us!

“For the word of the Lord is right and true;
he is faithful in all he does.”—Psalm 33:4

You are my refuge and my shield;
I have put my hope in your word.
“—Psalm 119:114

He is faithful.

“So commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these words of mine. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders.”—Deuteronomy 11:18

And we can know… that even if things are suddenly hard to see in the moment, as we stay in His Word—as we stand on His Word, He promises that His WORD will shine LIGHT into our path…..and we’ll not lose our way, because He’s faithful to show us the way.

Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.
“—Psalm 119:105

Our God is faithful to lead His people!

And He’s leading us closer to His heart, as He’s leading us deeper and deeper into His Word.

And He has a reason and a purpose for every lesson.

He knows every lesson we need to learn so that we can live His plan and purpose for our lives.

I love you, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”—Psalm 18:1-2

Thank You, Father. ?☀️
