11.16.2020 – The Glorious Unveiling of His Heart and His Plans

“And the word of the LORD came to me, asking, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” “I see a branch of an almond tree,” I replied. “You have observed correctly,” said the LORD, “for I am watching over My word to accomplish it.”—Jeremiah 1:11-12

Heavenly Father… ??✨

I love how You help us to see.

I love how You help us to see things closer, and closer, and closer to the way You see and perceive them.

You bring things “into focus”….

And You’re constantly bringing us closer and closer to Your heart.

And as we come closer—as we come to know You, as we learn more of who You are… as we bond with You…. ?

You teach us to see more like You do.

And You show us things that are in secret.

Things that are “hidden” in Your heart—meant to be revealed to those You give “eyes” to see, those who can be trusted with Your heart…

“They told him, ‘Lord, we want to be able to see!'”—Matthew 20:33

God, what an incredible adventure it is to discover more of You.

….and the joyful realization of learning that the “trail” of “discovery” is never-ending…

The “trail” of “discovery” that leads us closer and closer to knowing You.

God, the more I get to know You, the more I find myself at ease about this life and all the things that used to get me so twisted and tied-up in anxiety.

Knowing You gives me peace. ?

Knowing You helps me to “understand” in such a way… that I don’t need to “understand every little thing” to be able to understand and know and have peace… that You’ve got this. ?

God, the more I get to know You, the more I find out about You that I adore.

I’m remembering a little “song” I made up as a child…

“…When am I gonna find out what You are doing in heaven? When am I gonna find out, what’s in heaven now? When am I gonna find out what You look like…. when am I gonna find out who You are?…”

…And it’s all part of the journey, as we make our way closer and closer to Him, and closer and closer to our true home, with Him.

I wonder if when we get to finally meet Jesus, face to face… if He’ll feel so familiar to us? Like an old Friend that we’ve known our whole lives….

I would imagine so. He’s been here with us all along.

And I wonder if when we first hug Him—embrace Him, if it will be more like “we’ve missed Him” than the kind of hug or embrace when you first meet someone out of politeness.

Think about the most real and healing hug there could possibly be….

(I’m not what people would consider a “hugger” but I tear up at the thought of the overwhelming sweetness of that moment…)

The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.” —Zephaniah 3:17

What a joy it is to discover Him in this life.

…and then we find out that we’re a joy to Him too. ?✨

He brought me out into a broad place; he rescued me, because he delighted in me.“—Psalm 18:19

God, You are the God of HOPE!

And You are so gloriously making Yourself known to us in the most beautiful, miraculous ways.

And You’re doing it every day. ☀️

And You give us eyes to see how YOU see…

Lord, You’re the only One who can give us this sight to see—eyes that can see You, to see the way You do.

And we begin to see more, and more, and more

Layer, after layer, after layer

Deeper, and deeper, and deeper into Your heart.

Thank You, Father. ?

Thank You for taking us through this journey…

This exciting, sometimes really hard, and many times painful, often “impossible” and challenging…..and yet filled with unexplainable joy.

Knowing You, walking with You, and enjoying relationship with You…is worth it all.

You’re worth it all, Lord.

And it’s the sweetest journey with You, no matter what we face.

Thank you, Father. ✨

  1. Hello Heather….like you I am a country girl also….I have a tendency to believe us country girls have more common sense !! I am a Christian but really seem to need god as I get older and I believe I am much older than you and o have the regret of not really getting to know god as I age….I’ve always known god but really getting to know god is another wonderful experience but he knows I need all the help in every area of my life….please pray for me but I know god has and will always have my head above water but I want more.

    1. Hello Bev! It’s great to “meet” and connect with a fellow country girl! ? Thanks for writing! The beautiful thing about God, is He is all about “now” and where our “now” is taking us into what He has planned for us! I love that about Him. I love that we don’t need to fret over our past, and I love that He’s with us to take the next step that will take us into more abundant life with Him! I pray that God will give you the most beautiful and surprising “hunger” to know Him—that He’ll plant it in your heart and cause it to grow and flourish! May it be the most joyful adventure of your life! ?☀️ Blessings! – Heather ?
