12.28.2020 – It’s never “game over” for the children of God!

First, I have to share a picture of this beautiful candle a couple of dear friends gave to me yesterday. It has my name on it and it makes the most beautiful display of light. I love it. What a sweet surprise! ??

Speaking of “light” —as I’m sitting here at the table this morning, and as I look out the window, I see the most beautiful, glorious sunrise…

The skies are bursting with color… bright and bold orange, with a bit of red and some purplish in the clouds that seems to fade into the most serene pink…

It’s like the colors are setting the stage for the sun to gloriously rise into the skies. ?

…and here come the beams of light… ☀️

Isn’t it something how a simple sunrise can play a part in refilling our hope for a new day?

I think God designed it to be this way. ?

He knows what we need, doesn’t He?

He knows how—on so many levels, in so many different ways… He knows how to refill us with the hope we need to live through each day.

I never really know what I’m going to write about when I first sit down with the Lord each morning.

There are times I wonder how there would be any words at all.

Here is what is on my heart to write this morning…

I believe many in the body of Christ feel as though they are just at the edge of “giving up”… just at the edge of not being able to handle another day, another challenge, another trial, another “impossible” situation…

But I think we need to be reminded of how hard the enemy tries to get us to “throw up the white flag”

“a sign that we accept that we have failed or been defeated”

If he can juuuuuust get us to do that—to give up, to lose all hope… to think/accept we have been “defeated”— then “maybe he can stop us from breaking through into the glorious thing God has for us on the other side of the challenge.”

But we must never give up!

Because it’s never “game over” for the people of God, for those who belong to Jesus!

As children of God, living this life here on the earth, we’re still only in the very beginning of everlasting life!

For us, it’s never really “over”… we can never be “defeated” because our God has already won it all for us.

He’s already set everything in place for us to walk in victory!

So don’t let the enemy trick you with his lies and deceit.

Don’t let him make you think you’ve “lost” or that because of “this situation, because of that circumstance”, “my life is over… I don’t know how I can go on… I don’t know how to hang onto hope anymore…”

Hang onto the hope that you have in your heartfor dear life! Whatever that may look like in your life, in the circumstances you are facing, in the midst of the “impossible” situation…

We must hold on to the hope we have, never hesitating to tell people about it. We can trust God to do what he promised.”—Hebrews 10:23 ESV

We have hope, and we can hang onto that hope, because we have Jesus, and because He has us! ☀️

So as we keep going, as we take our leap of faith, may we expect and look forward to the sudden, swoosh of wind that will lift us up, and carry us through to the other side…

May we stretch out our wings, expecting the wind of God to carry us where we haven’t the strength, or ability to carry ourselves…

He does His part. ? Let’s do ours. ?

The way you counsel and correct me makes me praise you more,
for your whispers in the night give me wisdom,
showing me what to do nex
t.
Because you are close to me and always available,
my confidence will never be shaken
,
for I experience your wrap-around presence every moment.
My heart and soul explode with joy—full of glory!
Even my body will rest confident and secure
.”—Psalm 16:7-9 TPT

Thank You, Father. ?
