12.29.2020 – He turns our “daily dread” into “daily bread”…

I was sitting here this morning, just feeling thankful for the time I get to share with my heavenly Father each day…communion with Him, just sitting with Him, listening for what He might want to share from His heart, listening for what He might want to teach me…

And I wrote some things down in my journal, just thanking Him, and I began thinking about what it means… this “daily” thing He and I share together each day, in the early part of each morning.

I wrote down…

“daily bread”

But in my 3:30 AM handwriting it appeared more like,

“daily dread

So as I fixed my “d” to make it look like a “b”… ☺️ I heard

“He turns our daily “dread” into our daily “bread” ?☀️?

And I thought…. “How He does!” ?

What does it mean to “dread“?

to “anticipate with great apprehension or fear.”

But Jesus teaches us, and He shows us through His example prayer, that we can ask our Father for provision—food, the work, the money to pay the bills and to live, sustenance to live physically as well as sustenance to live spiritually

Give us this day our daily bread….”—Matthew 6:11

Why would Jesus teach us that we can ask the Father for provision, our “daily bread”, if our Father would not give us what we need to sustain us both physically and spiritually….

God provided for His people in the wilderness, a “daily bread” for them to eat that would nourish them, that would provide for them and sustain them when they were, in a sense, “helpless”…. fully dependent. He was their Provider and He gave them the daily bread from heaven that would sustain them physically.

And Jesus also shows us, that just as God provides for His people physically, He also provides for His people, spiritually, and it is through Christ… “the bread of LIFE!”…HE is our “daily bread”…

Jesus answered, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never hunger, and whoever believes in Me will never thirst.“—John 6:35

Jesus teaches us that we can trust and know, that He has provided all that we need, and that He will provide all that we need—but we must depend on Him, and we need Him every moment of every day!

And He will sustain us, He will nourish us, He will provide for His people.

He turns our “daily dread” into “daily bread“……

He sustains us. He carries us through. ?

He has, and He will. ?☀️

“…’Sir,’ they said, “give us this bread at all times.” Jesus answered, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never hunger, and whoever believes in Me will never thirst. But as I stated, you have seen Me and still you do not believe’.…”—John 6:34-36

Let us remember, and let us believe…for each new day.

He is always what we need.

Every moment of every new day.

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.“—Philippians 4:19

Thank You, Lord. ?
