1.10.2021 – HE is the only “source of truth” we could ever need!

I have an honest little story to tell you…

My alarm went off at the usual 5 AM, I got up, started my coffee, added some wood to the stove… and I came to sit down at my dining room table.

…I came to sit down at the place I’ve devoted to spend with my Heavenly Father, within the time I’ve devoted to spend with Him each morning…

But do you know what happened?

I somehow got sucked into the news.

It wasn’t even “fake news” or “main stream news”…. in fact, it was probably some very necessary, “need to know” kind of news.

There was probably a lot of real facts in this news.

…An hour passed before it hit me, before the Lord nudged me and reminded me of what I needed reminding of this morning…

You see, I was spending my time looking for my “news”… digging for the “truth”…. when God was RIGHT HERE—God Almighty! And all He wanted was to spend time with me, one-on-one, in this time that I’ve devoted to Him.

After all, He’s also devoted “this time”…. to spend it with me….

All He wanted was to be “all the truth that I need”….the “source”….the “treasure that I seek.”

I got up from the table to refill my coffee, realizing that a lot of my time had passed because of my getting “sucked in”… and I turned to Him

“Oh Father, forgive me, I’m so sorry… I see now what has happened…”

…And a part of me thought,

“Oh goodness, have I ruined my whole morning, have I wasted this time?”

And right about the same time that I had that thought, I had another thought…and I knew what I was to write about this morning. ?

It was like the Lord was smiling, as this new, refreshing thought started coming to me—as I realized and remembered…

“I’ll do what I always do…. I’ll write about it—honestly.” ?☀️

And do you know what the sweetest part is?

There was no condemnation from Him… only a tender reminder, and a faithful nudge.

And as I turned my heart to Him, as I turned my mind to Him, my focus, as I remembered Him

I saw what God wanted to speak this morning through this story.

I saw how He wanted to recover that first “hour” of time that I allowed to slip away from my time with Him…

So here is what I think He is wanting to remind me of this morning:

There is something within each of us that so desires to be “in the know”…

To know “what is really going on”…

A deep, deep desire within us to know “the truth”…

It’s a good thing—God created it to drive us straight to Him.

The enemy knows about this desire in us. How he knows about this...

Just think back to what happened in the garden with the serpent, Adam and Eve, and the Tree of Knowledge of Good & Evil…

The enemy tries to jump in with his lies and temptation, knowing of this desire for truth, a thirst for “knowing”, and He tries to convince us…

There… is the truth…

“Look, look over there…”

“Dig over there, you’ll find the REAL truth…”

“Go and search over there on your own, there you’ll find what you are REALLY looking for…”

“…. go over there, then you’ll find the answers…”

When the TRUTH is…. we have all the TRUTH we could ever need right HERE with our Heavenly Father! Right HERE with Him, right HERE in whatever HE says….

We are His sheep, and we hear HIS voice! He leads us! He provides for us, everything we could ever need, He speaks to us—precisely what we need to know to be able to take the steps we are supposed to take, on the path we are supposed to take.

Why would we need the “Tree of Knowledge of Good & Evil”… when we have the Tree of LIFE?

The enemy wants to lure us off the path, causing us to wander over “here or there” to find the “truth” the “knowledge” to be “in the know…”

When all we need, all we REALLY need… is to keep walking the path with our God… all we REALLY need, is just to keep walking, in the garden, with our Heavenly Father.

Trusting, listening, sharing with our hearts open, and resting in Him….

Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,

and my hope is in you all day long.”—Psalm 25:5

HE is always all we could ever need. May we remember to seek Him first! May we remember that we are His sheep, and we can hear His voice!

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.”—Luke 12:31

Father, I come to YOU… I come to You as the source for EVERYTHING I could ever need, first and foremost! I don’t need to always “be in the know“….it’s just not worth it, especially if it takes Your place! You give me all the “knowing” I need for each step that I’ll ever need to take, You lead me in all truth.

I come to YOU first, and from that place, it all flows from there.

All I could ever need.

You are the TRUTH. I come to YOU as my “source of truth”…

I come to YOU to hear what You have to say…first.

Why would I ever need any other “news source”?

When I have everything I could ever need, in You.

You will lead me into everything I could ever need to know…from this place with You being my “one and only main source.”

And here it is…

But the wonderful anointing you have received from God is so much greater than their deception and now lives in you. There’s no need for anyone to keep teaching you. His anointing teaches you all that you need to know, for it will lead you into truth, not a counterfeit. So just as the anointing has taught you, remain in him.“—1 John 2:27 TPT

The Lord is good to those who depend on Him, to those who search for Him. So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.”—Lamentations 3:25–26

If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.“— John 8:31-32

Thank You, Father. I love how You teach me Your ways, how You even somehow use my mistakes to teach me the most beautiful lessons. Thank You for reminding me of the importance to turn to YOU first, always. May the desire for truth drive us straight to You, God! What a treasure You are. ??
