This morning, the Lord is putting a reminder on my heart…
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”—John 10:27
He’s reminding me of a desire of His heart…
That each one of His children, each “one” of His “sheep”… would learn to run to Him directly…
to know Him…to hear Him…
for a refilling of hope
for a refilling of confidence in Him
for “the answers”…
and yes, we can even ask Him to help us understand.
He does tend to “the one”… does He not?
“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it?”—Luke 15:4
He sees us as “each one” of His!
And Almighty God, our Heavenly Father— desires to cultivate such a relationship with each one of us… that we might learn to run straight to Him, to listen for His voice in our own hearts.
That we might learn to wait upon Him for what He has to say.
That we might come to the place where we are reminded to ask,
“Father, what are You doing right now, that You have on Your heart to share with me to know and to understand? What is the “piece” that You want me to know and to carry in my own heart? And what do You want me to do with whatever is on Your heart to show me?”
You see, there is a massive lie that the enemy uses…
And it screams,
“You can’t hear God for yourself… who do you think you are to think you can hear God? Why would He speak to YOU directly?”
But the truth is, God designed us in such a way, that we each can hear His voice! When we receive Jesus as our Savior, Lord of our lives, and when we receive the Holy Spirit to live within us… yes, we can hear Him.
“Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.”—John 8:47
“And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.”—Isaiah 30:21
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”—John 14:26
And our Father knows…
That a relationship with Him must be “cultivated“… and it must begin to grow and flourish.
So He’s constantly drawing us, He’s constantly wooing us, He’s always inviting us… to come and dwell with Him, one-on-one.
It is His heart, His desire, that His children would always come running straight to Him, filled with excitement and anticipation of what He might have to say…
“Father! What do You have on Your heart to share with me?”
Don’t you know that He has created each one of us to express who He is, just a bit differently? Uniquely?
We must never forget, we must never lose sight, that He has created each “one” of His children with the ability to hear His voice, to personally grow to know His heart.
Me and God
You and God
And then when we all come together, we each shine a “different color” a different “hue” of His character, His heart, His nature….
Each one of us, is created to be a different “display” a different “color” of who He is.
God is all about the rainbow, you know? He designed it.
And I think He designed His people to each be kind of like a different “hue”—a different “color” of His light shining through us… and each of us blended together to form a rainbow of color…the beautiful, colorful nature of God.
Isn’t that beautiful?
There is a reason He has made us each unique and different.
So it’s important that we learn to hear Him for ourselves, that we learn to first always run straight to Him!
He clears it all up!
Just like a little child who hears something, or sees something in the world, and then they go running to their Daddy to see what’s really going on, to see what it’s really all about.
And He says to His children,
“Come close, tune in, listen…wait… and rest in Me.”
It’s like I hear Him saying to the hearts of His people, to those who doubt that they could “ever hear God speak”…
“Are you now ready to learn to hear from Me, for yourself?
Are you ready to dig into the truth of My Word—you and Me?
Come to Me. Yes, you. I’m standing at your door. I will teach you. Yes, you.”
He desires to speak to you. If it’s hard for you to believe, ask Him to help your unbelief. Ask Him to teach you. He is faithful. ?
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.”—Revelation 3:20
“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”—Romans 10:17
“Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.”—Jeremiah 33:3
Thank You, Father. ? Thank You, Lord Jesus for making a “way” directly to the Father, through You! What a treasure. And it’s so important that we learn to take “this way”… thank You for these reminders this morning.
