1.28.2021 – Remember, He is like the Sunrise!

I look forward to watching the sunrise each morning… ☀️

How to describe it?

I think of the word,

“glorious”

I even look forward to the time just before the dawn…

Because there is great anticipation in the time of watching and waiting…

Even when it’s the darkest part of the night…

For we know that the night is the darkest just before the dawn.

Last night—at night time, of all times… the Lord began to remind me of a “sunrise”…

“…he dawns on them like the morning light, like the sun shining forth on a cloudless morning, like rain that makes grass to sprout from the earth.”—2 Samuel 23:4

I think the Lord has much to teach us, and show us, and reveal to us about Jesus—His way, His nature—through a simple, and yet glorious sunrise.

In the middle of a dark night, it’s tempting to feel alone, unseen, afraid, unsure, hopeless

But I believe the Lord wants us to remind us of WHO HE IS… HIS character, His WAY!

That we might be a people who cast down fear and hopelessness, even in the midst of the darkest part of the night…

And that we might be filled instead with ANTICIPATION and EXCITEMENT! Because we know our God! And we know HIS WAY!

And because our confidence and hope is in Him!

…and then, when I begin to see the dawning light begin to appear in the darkness

Excitement!

Hope!

Giddiness!

Relief…

A sense of wrap-around warmth

Refreshing renewal

Refilled…with JOY.

This is what He wants for us.

This is His heart for us.

Something the Lord has placed on my heart lately as a reminder is this:

RememberHe is like the sunrise…” ?☀️

“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned.”—Isaiah 9:3

Thank You, Father. ?☀️

“Through the heartfelt mercies of our God,

God’s Sunrise will break in upon us,

Shining on those in the darkness,

those sitting in the shadow of death,

Then showing us the way, one foot at a time,

down the path of peace.”—Luke 1:78-79 The Message

P.S. Just as I finished writing this, the sun beams began to burst through the clouds. It was the perfect time to capture a photo in that very moment for this post… thank You, Lord. Your timing is perfect!
