I heard a beautiful quote this morning…
“Read your bible…
…but let your bible read you.”
Think about it…
What happens when we open up our hearts, and we allow the Word to “read us?”
When the Word absorbs into us, searches us, and begins to show us the truth,
and suddenly we can also see things about our ways, our minds, our own hearts…
And a truth sinks into our hearts, that opens our eyes and sets us free.
…a truth that clears and cleanses and refreshes our eyes…
And His truth comes coated in tender-loving kindness, from the Father’s heart…
“I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” —Hebrews 13:5
…And we find ourselves just melting open before Him.
And every wall,
Every mask,
Every bit of shame…
Melts down in the sweet tenderness of His loving presence.
He so beautifully surrounds us, and He gently searches us…
We’re safe. It’s okay.
And He looks at all the places within us that are hurting,
all the places that need mending and repair…
And He begins to sort it all out, in a way that only He can.
He begins to put the chaos and confusion in order…
He uproots and cuts away what needs to be uprooted and removed, He plants what is on His heart to plant,
and He begins to put the pieces together—His heart’s design…
so perfectly,
so precisely…
And all within the safety of His loving presence,
in His tender-loving kindness.
And He builds us up…
And He dusts us off.
And He makes it all,
beautiful…
And then He helps us to be on our way, with Him.
Thank You, Father. ? Oh, these times with You.
