3.5.2021 – A different kind of uncomfortable…

“…Father…the words don’t feel like they’re flowing as they usually do…”

…these are the words I’ve written to Him this morning…

I confide in Him, as I feel my heart trying not to worry over something that feels different.

It’s a “place” I don’t often find myself in…at least when it comes to written words.

In times before, times that I’ve found myself in “this place”—I find that it’s usually in times that I’m still processing through something deep…

and to be very honest,

I have a tendency to fear when it feels a little quiet.

It can feel “unsettling” in this uncomfortable kind of place, within the realization of the “change of pace”…

And I have a tendency to want to “figure out” what could be “wrong”…when I’m in this kind of place.

And yet, somehow

I find myself putting words onto the page this morning. ☺️ 🍃

You see, I’ve found myself in an unfamiliar, uncomfortable place, as God does an “unfamiliar” kind of work in what feels like a “new territory” of my heart.

And I’m learning that “I’m okay” in any kind of place I find myself in, when I’m in it with my Heavenly Father. 💝

I am safe with Him, wherever He should lead me.

I don’t need to worry or fret, just because I’ve found myself in “unfamiliar territory”….

Because my Father is with me,

He’s in this with me,

and He is leading me.

I never need to fear that He might not be leading me and growing me.

When I’m walking with Him, He’s always taking me forward,

no matter how fast or slow the pace may feel

And I’m reminded, that God uses times of “process” because He’s walking us right into His powerful purpose for our lives.

And we never have to “rush through” a thing that He is doing in our hearts—no matter how uncomfortable, no matter how unfamiliar the new territory may seem.

We can trust Him.

“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” —Philippians 1:6 ESV

Change can be uncomfortable, different can be scary

But His work is good!

He’s a good Father who knows and loves our hearts.

And He turns the “scary” things that we face, into the most beautiful, glorious things.

And we can take courage, and take heart…

because we can face anything—any kind of thing— with Him. 💝

I want to share a song that encourages me so much this morning.

“Not Finished Yet” by Chris Renzema

“Hearts like stones
Taken by the sculptor
Polished forms
Every rough edge
Till everything else is gone
And all that remains is beautiful

Pain like thorns
Growing in a garden
One by one
Removed by careful hands
Till everything else is gone
And all that remains is beautiful

You’re not finished yet
You’re not finished yet
You’re not finished yet
You’re not finished yet

When I’m scared
And my eyes, they can’t see You
Are You still there?
Are You gonna pull me through?
When everything else is gone
And You’re all that remains
In the rubble and the ruin

You’re not finished yet
You’re not finished yet
You’re not finished yet
You’re not finished yet
You’re not finished yet
You’re not finished yet

You’re making all things new
You’re not finished yet
You’re making all things new
You’re not finished yet
A marvel from the marble
A garden from the bramble
You’re making all things new

You’re not finished yet
You’re not finished yet
You’re not finished yet
You’re not finished yet”
