3.11.2021 – Transitioning from the “Old” into the “New”

Do you ever feel as though…

you’ve left something “old“…

…but you haven’t quite taken off running into the “new“?

And you can’t really see what this “new” thing is shaping up to be, just yet.

It feels kind of like this place of being “in the middle of” the “shifting gears”…

A time of “transition.”

Do you ever get this feeling …

where you wonder if God might be “changing up” and “shaking up” some things in your life, and He’s nudging you into something new?

Have you ever found yourself in a season where He seems to be taking you away from your “old patterns” and “old ways” that you’ve been living in for a really long time, and it feels like He’s leading you into something that’s new and different, and unfamiliar

And it’s uncomfortable…

There is a tenancy that I’ve found within myself in times like these, and it makes me want to “dig my heels into the ground” while my heart is saying,

“Woahhh…. wait just a minute…..God, can You just tell me where You’re taking me first?? Can You just explain to me what’s going on and tell me exactly what You’re doing here before I go with You into this—whatever this is?

Have you ever felt this way?

Have you experienced these seasons in your life?

I’m reminded of this verse…

“I hear the Lord saying, ‘I will stay close to you, instructing and guiding you along the pathway for your life. I will advise you along the way and lead you forth with my eyes as your guide. So don’t make it difficult; don’t be stubborn when I take you where you’ve not been before. Don’t make me tug you and pull you along. Just come with me!‘”—Psalm 32:8 TPT

I can’t put my finger on exactly what the Lord is doing in my life right now, but it feels like He’s taking me into something “new” and “different”….

And out of His love

out of His goodness

out of His “knowing what is best”…

It’s like He is demolishing the “old”…

So that I can’t turn, and run back to it.

And He’s teaching me about dwelling in His rest, and in His love, and in His safety…while walking with Him at His perfect pace.

…even when I’m in the “uncomfortable” place of not knowing exactly what He’s doing, or what He’s taking me into.

Even when I don’t know where He’s taking me next, and I’m tempted to fear.

Even when I look back and feel “unsettled” as I watch Him —utterly demolishing the “old”…

I know that He’s taking me somewhere good.

And He’s teaching me to trust on a new level, within this “new layer”— that His ‘new’ is always good.

“The ‘old’ is gone—I must step into the ‘new’ with Him.”

Thank You, Father. 💝

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!“—2 Corinthians 5:17
